This Privacy Policy describes how Unmasked ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our websites, mobile applications, and other online products and services (collectively, the "Services") or when you otherwise interact with us.

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, fill out a form, submit or post content, make a purchase, communicate with us via third-party social media sites, request customer support, or otherwise communicate with us.

The types of information we may collect include your name, email address, phone number, postal address, payment information, and any other information you choose to provide.

Information from Third-Party Services (LinkedIn)

When you connect your LinkedIn account to Unmask, we collect professional information from your LinkedIn profile with your explicit authorization. This includes:

  • Name, email address, and profile photo
  • Professional headline and summary/about section
  • Work history (companies, job titles, dates of employment)
  • Skills and endorsements
  • Education history
  • Industry and location information

This data is collected through LinkedIn's Data Portability API and is only accessed after you explicitly authorize the connection during the sign-up process. We use this information to create your Unmask profile and match you with relevant career opportunities.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you access or use our Services, we automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Log Information: We collect log information about your use of the Services, including the type of browser you use, access times, pages viewed, your IP address, and the page you visited before navigating to our Services.
  • Device Information: We collect information about the computer or mobile device you use to access our Services, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Information Collected by Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies: We use various technologies to collect information, including cookies and web beacons.

Use of Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Services;
  • Create and populate your professional profile on Unmask;
  • Match you with relevant career opportunities at companies in our network;
  • Facilitate introductions between you and companies you express interest in;
  • Process transactions and send you related information;
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requests;
  • Communicate with you about products, services, offers, promotions, and events;
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our Services;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities;
  • Personalize and improve the Services and provide content or features that match user profiles or interests;
  • Carry out any other purpose described to you at the time the information was collected.

Sharing with Companies for Introductions

When you request an introduction to a company through Unmask, we share your professional profile information with that company to facilitate the introduction. This includes your name, professional experience, skills, and any information you've provided in your Unmask profile.

We only share this information after you explicitly request an introduction. You maintain full control over which companies receive your information, and you can view which companies have received your profile in your account dashboard.

Other Sharing

  • With vendors, consultants, and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf;
  • In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with, or required by, any applicable law, regulation, or legal process;
  • If we believe your actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of us or others;
  • In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company;
  • Between and among our current and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other companies under common control and ownership;
  • With your consent or at your direction.

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes without your consent.

Analytics Services

We may allow others to provide analytics services on our behalf. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Services and other websites, including your IP address, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked, and conversion information.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services.

LinkedIn Data Retention

For data imported from LinkedIn through the Data Portability API:

  • We retain this data while your Unmask account is active and you maintain the LinkedIn connection;
  • This data is automatically deleted when you close your Unmask account;
  • You can request deletion of LinkedIn-imported data at any time without closing your account;
  • If you disconnect your LinkedIn account from Unmask, we will delete the LinkedIn-sourced data within 30 days.

We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or comply with legal obligations).

Third-Party Data Processing

When we collect data from third-party services like LinkedIn, we comply with those services' data processing requirements and terms of use. Our processing of data obtained through LinkedIn's Data Portability API is governed by LinkedIn's applicable Data Processing Agreement and the LinkedIn API Terms of Use.

Transfer of Information

We are based in the United Kingdom and have operations and service providers in other countries. Therefore, we and our service providers may transfer your personal information to, or store or access it in, jurisdictions that may not provide equivalent levels of data protection as your home jurisdiction.

Your Rights and Choices

Account Information

You may update, correct, or delete information about you at any time by logging into your online account or emailing us at privacy@tryunmask.ai.

Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. Upon receiving your request, we will delete your data within 30 days.

When you close your Unmask account, we will automatically delete all personal data associated with your account, including any data imported from LinkedIn or other connected services, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

To request data deletion, email privacy@tryunmask.ai or use the "Delete Account" option in your account settings.

Data Portability

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. Contact us at privacy@tryunmask.ai to make this request.

Cookies

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of our Services.

Promotional Communications

You may opt out of receiving promotional communications from us by following the instructions in those messages. If you opt out, we may still send you non-promotional communications, such as those about your account or our ongoing business relations.

Disconnect Third-Party Services

You may disconnect your LinkedIn account or other third-party services from Unmask at any time through your account settings. When you disconnect a service, we will stop collecting new data from that service and will delete previously imported data within 30 days.
